Accessibility

I want everyone to be able to browse my cakes, see prices and place an order, including people who use a screen reader, keyboard navigation, zoom or other assistive tools.

The standard I aim for

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.

What has been done

  • Every photo has a written description for screen readers.
  • Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible outline showing where you are, and a Skip to content link at the top.
  • Text can be zoomed, and pages fit phone screens without sideways scrolling.
  • Colors are chosen so text is readable against its background.
  • The order form has a label on every field.
  • Pages are checked with automated accessibility testing tools.

Known limitations

  • The chat window in the corner is provided by an outside company (tawk.to), and I cannot fully control how it works with assistive technology. You can always call, text or use the order form instead.
  • Some older photos are from past events and may show less detail than newer ones.

Having trouble?

If anything on this site is hard to use, please let me know and I will get you the information or take your order another way.

Please tell me the page and what went wrong, so I can fix it for everyone.
